"Reach the next billion."

Nokia's Asha is a "borderline smartphone" platform; such devices are more powerful than the old featurephones, but less powerful and quite cheaper than proper smartphones. It was intended to replace the older Series 40 featurephone platform (confusingly, several early Asha models were in fact Series 40 phones with an Asha skin). The Asha line achieved some popularity in certain developing countries like Brazil, India, and all over South Asia; however, after Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's mobile business, they have discontinued all platforms except Windows Phone.
